ABOUT KLAETSCH PUBLIC AFFAIRS STRATEGIES

George Klaetsch 

George Klaetsch has been President of Klaetsch Public Affairs Strategies (KPAS) since September 2008. KPAS is a firm specializing in government relations, public affairs, trade association management and issue-based grassroots advocacy.

Prior to KPAS, he was the Senior Vice President for the Madison office of a regional public affairs firm. From 2000 – 2005, George was Public Affairs Manager for Alliant Energy, a Fortune 1000 investor-owned utility providing electric and gas service to customers in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Prior to his private sector career, George served in Governor Tommy Thompson’s administration from 1993 – 2000. During that time, he was the Coalitions and Political Director for Thompson’s 1998 re-election campaign and member of the finance team during the 1994 campaign. Additionally, George has managed and advised numerous campaigns, including gubernatorial, congressional, legislative, issue-based and judicial campaigns in Iowa and Wisconsin.

George is a lifelong resident of Wisconsin and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point.


Mikayla Olsen

Mikayla Olsen joined Klaetsch Public Affairs in August, 2018 and serves as the association manager for the Wisconsin Precast Concrete Association and Association of Wisconsin Lobbyists. Olsen previously served as a Legislative Aide in the Wisconsin State Legislature where she assisted with the office’s schedule, writing columns, and research in policy areas related to natural resources, transportation, and education.

Mikayla is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Madison with degrees in Political Science and English with an emphasis in Creative Writing. 


Katie Boycks  

Katie Boycks joined the team at Klaetsch Public Affairs Strategies (KPAS) in October of 2012 as the Director of Government Relations and Trade Association Management.

Prior to joining KPAS, she spent five years as Director of the Wisconsin Association of Life & Health Insurers in Madison where she represented multiple life and health insurance companies domiciled in Wisconsin. Her past experience also includes work at Fortis Health, a Milwaukee based health insurance company, following graduation from Marquette Law School in May of 2000.

Katie was born and raised in Milwaukee and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
